In a marketplace fixated on short-term events, the significance of acquiring and holding valuable assets for the long run often goes unnoticed.
Our vision for this closed conference was to bring some of our institutional investors together with industry experts, thought leaders and peers, to explore the enduring advantages of investments in sustainable, purposeful and profitable companies.
This year’s theme, Pareto improvements in the agile Nordic markets, was chosen to highlight an important and attainable goal for the Nordic markets: to uphold the highest standards of responsible investing without sacrificing profits for our clients and unitholders.
As a Pareto improvement entail doing better on at least one dimension without doing worse on any other dimension, we believe it is a fitting maxim. We can always do better on one front or another.
Among this years' speakers were Prof. Aleksander Ljungqvist, who provided insight on the consequences of a shrinking stock market and how the Swedish market has managed to buck the trend, and Prof. Alex Edmans passionatly showed examples on how great companies deliver both purpose and profit.
The first day of the conference provided insight and reflections on the management of equities, while the second day focused on fixed income.
We heard from the top management of successful Nordic companies such as Addtech and Yara, and investment professionals shared their insights on long-term investments.
In addition to thr speaker presentations and panel discussions, the conference served as an opportunity to network and discuss relevant topics with peers. To engage in dialogue, learn from each other and uphold personal relations is of great value, and this was an important aspect of this event.
A big thank you to both speakers and guests who took part in this years' event.
